BKSA are excited to report on an encouraging development in the ongoing campaign for positive change to improve water quality and health of blue spaces.
We’re a part of a coalition of National Governing Bodies who represent almost 450,000 members, elite athletes, participants and many more water users. Together we rely on the use of UK waters for sport and recreation, and this is now being recognised in a change of the definition of “bather” to include other watersports users for the first time.
This is the first change to be made in the governments bathing water rules and regulation in over a decade and is a positive and promising move addressing the diversity of where and how the public wish to use the UKs blue spaces.
