{"id":232509,"date":"2023-05-24T13:11:17","date_gmt":"2023-05-24T13:11:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.britishkitesports.org\/?p=232509"},"modified":"2023-05-24T13:11:17","modified_gmt":"2023-05-24T13:11:17","slug":"the-king-of-the-roads-2023-press-release","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/britishkitesports.org\/the-king-of-the-roads-2023-press-release\/","title":{"rendered":"THE KING OF THE ROADS 2023 PRESS RELEASE"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>The first BKSA Wing Race event of the year was delivered in conjunction with support from our local Kernow Kitesurf Club.<\/h3>\n<p><strong>This \u2018King of The Roads\u2019 delivered on everything bar a strong enough wind over the weekend to run our Wing Foil competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We did have the most amazing Cornish Sunshine, a huge turnout of the leading brands displaying their gear \u2013 a great Party at Caf\u00e9 Mylor in the setting sun on Saturday Evening \u2013 E-Foiling demos in front of the centre &#8211; Clinics on foiling in the event zone \u2013 This was combined with a great turnout of visitors and competitors from all over the country.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-post-thumbnail-size wp-image-232510\" src=\"https:\/\/www.britishkitesports.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/IMG_9899-650x265.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"265\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With the amazing feedback from this weekend, we are already making plans to be back in 2024 to join Coastland and their wingfoil coaching team. Coastland and the Carrick Roads is just amazing for this style of event\u2013 an expansive sheltered harbour which works well at all states of tide and in most wind directions &#8211; Camping and campervan pitches \u2013 changing rooms \/ showers \u2013 plenty of parking and all just a short stroll from Mylor Yacht Harbour.<\/p>\n<p>To the Sponsors we would like to say thank you &#8211; Maui Jim sunglasses, Big Blue Watersports, Mylor Yacht Harbour, Hawkins Motors MG in Hayle, Rattler Cyder and Caf\u00e9 Mylor. They all went above and beyond displaying an extensive range of Wing and foiling gear in a really professional and visually exciting way &#8211;<br \/>\nFanatic and Duotone \u2013 F-One \u2013 Slingshot\/ Ride Engine \u2013 Armstrong \u2013 Starboard &amp; Free Wing \u2013 North \u2013 Neil Pryde \u2013 AFS \u2013 Ensis and FBC \u2013 and of course not forgetting Unifoil and Appletree from Newquay. Viking Foils based at Stithians Lake ran E foiling sessions almost continually on both days and gave many people a real fun foiling experience. We also had great feedback on the Downwind Foiling Clinic run by local paddling guru, Glen Eldridge from Ocean Sports Centre at Carbis Bay.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-post-thumbnail-size wp-image-232535\" src=\"https:\/\/www.britishkitesports.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/IMG_9736-650x265.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"265\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The one thing that was undeniable from everyone that attended, is that there is \u2018visible stoke\u2019 with the evolution of where this amazing sport is going.
